If Donald Trump succeeded in drawing attention to himself during his rally at Madison Square Garden on Sunday evening, the numerous racist and misogynistic remarks would not allow him to recover votes from the undecided, judges a political specialist American.

“I think it went against what we usually do at the end of the campaign,” analyzed Luc Laliberté the day after the rally in New York.
If this did help to galvanize his troops, the Republican candidate did not necessarily create an opening to seek out new voters, who are crucial in this tight electoral race, because of his guests.
“There was homophobia, there was racism, there was misogyny,” summarized the expert in an interview with LCN.
The comments of comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who compared Puerto Rico to “a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean” did not help.
“Donald Trump would like to alienate these voters, he would not have done worse than to give the floor to this comedian, who is talked about more in certain media today than about Donald Trump,” underlined Mr. Laliberté.
