The project – a partnership between FTG Development Company and Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company – aims to bring about a radical transformation in the field of tourism and entertainment in the region, according to a statement by Qatari Diar.
“The Land of Legends” Qatar is considered a foreign investment project in the tourism sector in the State of Qatar, and the first major development project to start its work within the “Simaisma Project”, extending over an area of 650 thousand square meters.
The project is expected to attract “The Land of Legends” Qatar receives two million visitors annually, enhances the tourism scene in Qatar, and supports the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030 regarding diversifying the resources of the local economy, according to the same statement.
The cost of the project is about $3 billion, and construction will be completed by 2028, according to FTG Chairman Fattah Tamins.
After laying the foundation stone, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister said in a tweet on the “X” platform that laying the foundation stone for the entertainment city in the Simaisma Beach project is a new and important step towards strengthening the tourism and entertainment sector in Qatar.
He stressed that the new project will support the enhancement of the tourism scene and support the achievement of the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
For his part, Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Attiyah said The Qatari Minister of Municipality, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Diar Company, said: “The Land of Legends in the Semimasa project is an important step aimed at strengthening Qatar’s position on the regional and international arenas and establishing it as a leading tourist destination.”

Simaisma project
Al-Attiyah added that the Simaisma project contributes to creating new investment opportunities and consolidating the partnership between the public and private sectors, which contributes to advancing economic development, according to the statement.
The Sustainable Simaisma project will be built on an area of 8 million square meters and a 7-km extension of the waterfront on the eastern coast of the State of Qatar. It is one of the latest projects of the Qatari Ministry of Municipality and is managed by the Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company with an investment of 20 billion riyals ($5.5 billion).
Sumaisma is a village located on the eastern coast of Qatar, about 30 kilometers north of the capital, Doha. Some of its residents used to work in diving and searching for pearls, and some worked in herding camels and sheep.
