QatarEnergy has signed an agreement with Kuwait Petroleum Corporation to supply up to 3 million tons per year of liquefied natural gas to the State of Kuwait for 15 years.
QatarEnergy said in a statement today that, under the agreement, the agreed shipments will be delivered to the receiving terminal at Kuwait’s Al-Zour Port on board LNG carriers of conventional, Q-Flex and Q-Max sizes from QatarEnergy’s fleet, starting in January 2025.

The agreement was signed by Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of QatarEnergy, and Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah, Vice Chairman and CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.
The agreement was signed at a special ceremony held in Kuwait City in the presence of a number of senior executives from Qatar Energy and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.
The Qatari Minister of State for Energy Affairs welcomed this agreement in a speech on this occasion, saying: “I am very pleased to be in the State of Kuwait, which is dear to our hearts, and to build this long-term partnership between QatarEnergy and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, which is a pivotal element in supporting the sustainability goals of the sisterly State of Kuwait, especially in the field of electricity generation. It also reflects our commitment to supporting the future needs of all our customers, especially Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.”
The agreement is the second long-term agreement with the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation to supply liquefied natural gas, and it constitutes a qualitative addition to support the ambitious trade and economic exchange goals between the two brotherly countries.
