Engineer Saad bin Sheridah Al -Kaabi, the Qatari Minister of State for Energy Affairs, called on the Managing Director and CEO of Qatar Energy, to continue investing in energy projects, stressing that a fair price for oil will ensure the sustainability of production and provide additional precautions.

Al -Kaabi added, during his participation in a dialogue session at the Qatar Economic Forum on Global Energy Security and ensuring supplies, “We need, in my opinion, a price ranging between 70 and 80 dollars to maintain current production and future increase.

He stressed the need for more energy to support global growth, saying: “The population of the Earth will increase between 1.5 billion and two billion people during the 20 to 30 years, and there are one billion people around the world who are not able to reach basic energy today. Therefore, an urgent need for electricity and energy in the future is no need there at all to worry about the surplus of display.”

Speaking of investing in exploration and exploration activities, Al -Kaabi said: “We are one of the largest companies in the world in terms of having exploration and exploration rights in regions around the world. We have achieved success in a number of regions, but this is a continuous effort to explore more, and we are active in new exploration areas around the world. I am optimistic about the future, but this requires time.”

On the results of the recent visit of US President Donald Trump to Qatar, he pointed to a number of Qatari -energy partnerships in the field of energy, including the Golden Pass project to export LNG, and the Golden Trengal Petrochemical Factory, which includes the largest unit for breaking the world.

He added: “A number of agreements were signed during the visit. From my site as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Airways, I can confirm that we put a tender to expand our fleet from the planes, and Boeing gave us the best deal, and it was better than Airbus. We went ahead with this deal, because it is commercially the most feasible.”

Regarding the joining of “Riyadh Air” to the aviation sector in the region, Al -Kaabi said: “We are very happy for our brothers and colleagues in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their start in this expansion in the aviation sector. Saudi Arabia is a large country in terms of area and population … and if there is anything we can do in Qatar Airways to support the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, we will be happy with that. We wish them all the best.”
