Presumed killer of the boss of Unitedhealthcare | Luigi Mangione’s trial will start in December

(New York) Luigi Mangione, accused of having murdered at the end of 2024, in New York, the boss of the biggest American health insurer to take revenge on the drifts of the sector, will be judged from 1^er December before a New York State court.

The date was announced Tuesday by the judge responsible for the case during a hearing. It will be a first trial for Luigi Mangione, who also risks the death penalty in another procedure carried out at the federal level.

This 27-year-old son without stories from an affluent family from Baltimore (Maryland) had killed the director of Unitedhealtcare, Brian Thompson, 50, in a street in Manhattan, on the morning of December 4, 2024.

He has become for some the symbol of the deep anger that Americans experience against health insurance companies, accused of favoring their profits to the detriment of care and refusing or dragging reimbursements.
