Today, Saturday, Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara issued a decision to pay an additional month’s salary for state employees on the occasion of Eid Al -Fitr.
The presidential decision stated that this financial grant is paid to the state workers, including civilians and military personnel, equivalent to one month’s salary, and also spent for retirement pensioners, equivalent to one month pension.
The decision stated that the financial grant includes permanent and temporary workers and daily wage workers in Syria, according to the official Syrian News Agency (SANA).
The decision was also spent to exempt these financial grants from taxes and deductions.
Last January, Syrian Finance Minister Mohamed Abazid said that the government will increase the salaries of many public sector employees 400% as of last February after completing the administrative restructuring of the ministries to enhance efficiency and accountability.
Abazid estimated the cost of increasing salaries by more than 1.65 trillion Syrian pounds (127 million dollars), indicating that it will be funded from the current state treasury, regional aid and new investments, and through efforts to decipher the freezing of Syrian assets currently existing abroad.
