A 71-year-old pastor was arrested Thursday for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in the basement of a church on Long Island, New York.
The events, which date back to March, occurred at an Adventist church in Huntington, according to what the “New York Post” reported, citing Suffolk County police.
Religious preacher Clinton Bucknor, a resident of the Huntington neighborhood, allegedly first sent an inappropriate text message and photo to the alleged victim.
It was the victim’s sister, whose identity has not been revealed, who contacted the police after learning of the explicit messages from the alleged suspect on her phone.
The septuagenarian was arrested Thursday morning and charged with criminal solicitation, sexual abuse and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to the American tabloid.
The suspect will appear in First District Court in Central Islip in Suffolk County on Friday, it was added.
