(Paris) The United States announced Tuesday that it again withdrew from the United Nations Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO) organization because of what Washington considers its anti-Israeli bias.
This is the third time that the United States has left UNESCO, whose headquarters have been in Paris, and the second time while Donald Trump is in power.
President Trump had already withdrawn the United States from UNESCO during his first mandate, but the country had reintegrated the agency in 2023 during the presidency of Joe Biden.
This decision will take effect at the end of December 2026.
In a declaration sent to New York Postthe deputy spokesperson for the White House, Anna Kelly, pleaded that UNESCO “supports cultural and social causes” wokes “, which divide and which are completely out of step with common sense policies for which the Americans voted in November”.
