The government of Pakistan has reduced the price of petrol by Rs 10 ($0.036) per litre and the price of high-speed diesel by Rs 13 ($0.047) per litre.
The decision was made to ease the burden on consumers, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported on Monday.
The government has reduced the price of kerosene by Rs 11.15 ($0.040) per litre and light diesel by Rs 12.12 ($0.044) per litre.
The government announced that from today, the price of petrol will be fixed at Rs 249.10 ($0.90) per litre, and the price of high-speed diesel at Rs 249.69 ($0.90) per litre.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority calculates the consumer price of petroleum products, based on changes in prices in the global market.
Accordingly, the prices of petroleum products will be adjusted for the next two weeks, starting today.
