Shocking video shows the moment five people were crushed when their sport utility vehicle (SUV) overturned while performing a dangerous stunt in Colorado.
The horrific accident, which happened Saturday evening at a Colorado Springs shopping center, was caught on camera. The sequence shows an SUV backing up at full speed in a parking lot and attempting to make a semi-circle on itself. The maneuver has been popularized in several films.
Even more dangerous, several passengers in the vehicle were sitting right in the bay windows.
The video is particularly disturbing and is intended for an informed audience.
During the maneuver, the SUV flipped and rolled onto its side, crushing passengers who were not seated in their seats.
Members of the group suffered fatal injuries during the stunt, KKTV reported.
Passers-by quickly rushed to help, but the person who filmed the incident warned the group not to flip the car.
“No, there is someone on the other side! There’s someone on the other side, don’t turn it over, don’t turn it over,” he warned.
All five people were rushed to a local hospital. Their condition was not immediately known.
The suspected driver, identified by police as Marisol Wentling, was not seriously injured and was charged with reckless driving, according to the outlet.
She was released on bail. The incident remains under investigation
