Heavy flooding has caused the collapse of a major railway bridge in Sioux City, South Dakota in the United States.
Heavy rains have caused flooding in this American region in recent days.
Images obtained by Reuters show the bridge in question, which trains use to cross from Iowa to South Dakota, in pieces in the water of the Big Sioux River.
“Just in case we needed a reminder of the destructive nature of water, we’re seeing one in real time today,” says state Governor Kristi Noem.
At least two people have been killed by these floods raging in the American “mid-west” region, according to NBC News.
The American media also reports that 31 million Americans living in this area were subject to weather alerts on Tuesday, whether for flooding, heat, rain or hail.
