A fire broke out off Alaska on a cargo cargo carrying hundreds of electric vehicles, a rescue operation being scheduled on Monday, according to American media.
Alaska coast guards received a distress call on Tuesday reporting a fire aboard the Morning Midasa ship belonging to the British company Zodiac Maritime carrying more than 3000 vehicles, including around 750 electric or hybrid.
The 22 crew members evacuated on a rescue boat before being rescued by a private ship.
An overview of Morning Midaswhich is more than 500 kilometers from the coasts of Alaska, confirmed that he was still on fire on Wednesday, the coast guards said in a statement.
They published images showing smoke rising from the ship long about 200 m.
