A private island in San Francisco Bay may be without water or electricity, but that doesn’t stop its sale price from reaching $25 million.

Red Rock Island is the only private island in the area and was put up for sale last November for the very modest sum of $25 million US (or more than $33 million Canadian), according to the New York Post.

Just in time for your “buy an island” 2023 goal??? —— If you have ever wanted to own your very own island in San Francisco Bay then today is your lucky day because Red Rock Island has almost 6 acres that rise 175 feet that is calling your name.

Measuring six acres, the island is only accessible by boat or helicopter. Steep cliffs, rocky shoreline, little vegetation: this island has little to offer, but its seller, Brock Durning, believes it is a trophy property and should sell for a high price. .

“We think it’s like owning a Leonardo da Vinci or a Rothko. “It’s something that someone would want in their portfolio, like an art or a sculpture,” broker Chris Lim told New York Timesaccording to Post.

For around twenty years, Red Rock Island has been repeatedly put on and off the market, according to the CEO of the “Private Island listing” site, Chris Krolow. The island’s asking price would be between US$5 million and US$25 million.

“We call them our decorative islands. They’re really pretty and get a lot of attention, but they don’t sell,” Krolow said.
