A passenger who had been taking part in a nine-month cruise since mid-December reportedly died on Sunday aboard the Royal Caribbean liner.

“A guest sailing aboard the ‘Serenade of the Seas’ has sadly passed away. (…) To respect the privacy of the guest and her family, we have nothing more to share at this time,” Royal Caribbean reportedly indicated in a press release to “People,” according to the “New York Post.” Monday.

On Sunday, passengers aboard the nine-month cruise, which welcomes 2,467 vacationers, reported being shaken after witnessing the body of a passenger being transported to the ship’s morgue, according to the American newspaper.

Most large cruise ships, which weigh anchor for a long period at sea, are required to have a morgue and body bags on board, to keep the bodies on board, in the event of an unexpected death, until the next major stopover, said the “NY Post”.

One of them, an elderly lady named Adita who regularly shares updates of the adventure to her 65,000 followers on TikTok, reportedly lamented the death of the passenger, an elderly lady who was traveling alone on board.

“Sad news. We had our first death on the Ultimate World Cruise (…) I came to my room as they were taking the body out, it was very, very sad for me, because I was there to watch,” reportedly -she confided to her subscribers, according to the “NY Post”.

The death reportedly occurred as the ship approached Los Angeles, one of several stops on the cruise which is expected to visit 65 countries in total.

The boat, which began its journey in Miami on December 10, quickly became the playground of many vloggers, while many Internet users followed the journey of its passengers on board on social networks, reported the “New York Times.
