A 24-year-old man chatting with his girlfriend on a sidewalk in the Bronx, New York, was attacked by a suspect who attacked him with a hammer.
The victim was talking in the Highbridge area when a suspect armed with a hammer crept up behind the young man and struck him violently with a hammer.
The victim, who was treated by paramedics, was taken to hospital, according to the New York Post.
The circumstances surrounding this armed attack are not known at this time, according to local police, who said that the attacker, who immediately fled, is still being sought.
