(Camallo) An agricultural worker died after being injured during a descent of the immigration police near Los Angeles, in legal farms of cannabis where clashes between agents and demonstrators took place, an American agricultural union announced on Friday.
“We regret confirming that an agricultural worker has died of injuries suffered during the immigration control operation carried out yesterday,” said UNITED Farm Workers on X.
The operation took place Thursday in Carpinteria and Camallo, two rural municipalities in the county of Ventura, located just over an hour’s drive from Los Angeles.
The federal agents “arrested around 200 foreigners in an irregular situation on the two sites”, and “suffered shots” on the part of a shooter “still on the run,” the department of domestic security said in a press release.
