An Australian television journalist was hit in the leg by a rubber bullet on Sunday when she was making a live report from downtown Los Angeles.

Posted at 11:17 a.m.

The video of the incident published by 9News shows the correspondent Lauren Tomasi, microphone in hand, making a report live when an officer, behind her, lifts her gun and shoots a rubber ball.

Tomasi, who does not have personal protective equipment, then shouts with pain and grips the lower part of his leg.

“You have just shot the journalist,” shouts an off scope voice.

Tomasi assures her team that she is fine: “Yes, I’m fine, I’m fine. »»

The situation remains tense in Los Angeles after three days of clashes between police and demonstrators against the migration policy of Donald Trump, who says that the situation continues to deteriorate in the Democratic Megalopolis and requests the sending of troops.
