A group of volunteers saved in extremis A kitten was stuck in a house drain for five days in Milwaukee, USA.
The troop showed up at the residence on Thursday after a neighbor alerted them to hearing meowing near a house.
“The people who heard the cat didn’t have the means to go and save it,” one of the volunteers told CNN.
The group rolled up their sleeves and dug for eight hours to get the kitten out, but without success.

Fortunately, on Friday, the group was able to get the furball out thanks to a little help from the firefighters.
“It’s the best rescue I’ve ever done,” another volunteer says emotionally.

The animal rescue team decided to name the kitten Piper in honor of her story.
