A small Pekingese dog spent more than three hours in an air duct before firefighters came to rescue him. He had fallen the equivalent of three stories.

It is in an adorable video published Wednesday by the South Metro Fire Rescue in Centennial in the United States that we see the entire process of first responders to save little Archie. The 12-week-old puppy fell into the uncovered ventilation opening after jumping from a bed, becoming stuck for many hours.

His mistress, Monique Moon, called the authorities in panic when she found out what happened. “The whole community was on edge, trying to figure out when this dog was going to make it,” she told firefighters.

Firefighters and authorities from the Douglas County Sherrif’s Office were on scene. They first tried to find the dog when they heard its moans which echoed throughout the house.

A local plumbing service also came to help.

The firefighters then decided to drill holes in the walls and ceiling to better locate the animal, but also to use a small camera to integrate the network of conduits.

After a meticulous search, they finally found Archie. He had no injuries.

In the video, Mme Moon appears extremely relieved. “Thank you everyone for never giving up. I’m really happy,” she said, emotionally. “You never stopped until I had my baby with me.”

In a Facebook post, she also commented that she was “very grateful for all the help.”
