The latter was in fact the prime suspect in the murder of Shane Ryan Donahue, a 23-year-old man killed in Nokesville, Virginia, 14 years earlier.
Timothy Hickerson was driving on Old Kings Road when a police officer stopped him for running a red light. When he checked his identification, the officer discovered he was a fugitive and immediately arrested him.
On March 24, 2010, Shane Ryan Donahue was reported missing after leaving his parents’ house. However, the investigation stalled and police found themselves at a dead end. Recently, investigators received new information and decided to reopen the case.

They discovered that the victim and Timothy Hickerson had been seen leaving Donahue’s parents’ residence.
Hickerson is also believed to be linked to a burglary at the Donahue family home days before the 23-year-old’s disappearance. That information made him the prime suspect in the case and led to police obtaining a warrant for his arrest.

“If you’re a fugitive, we’re going to catch you no matter where you run to and we’re going to put you in jail,” Sheriff Rick Staly said.
