According to the Los Angeles Times, Luis Armando Albino was found by his 63-year-old niece, with the help of the police, the FBI and the Justice Department.
Alida Alequin, a resident of Oakland, California, managed to locate her uncle with the help of a DNA test and newspaper clippings.
Mr. Albino, now a retired firefighter and former member of the U.S. Marine Corps, saw his family for the first time since his abduction last June.
In 1951, the six-year-old boy was abducted from a West Oakland park while playing with his 10-year-old brother by a woman who offered to buy him candy.
The latter brought Albino to the eastern United States to raise him as her own son, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Ms. Alequin told the Los Angeles Times that Luis Armando Albino’s mother, who died in 2005, always held out hope that her son would come home.
Mr. Albino was fortunate to see his brother Roger again, who was present at the park when he was abducted some time before his death.
