Targeted by criticism following remarks he allegedly made and which he denies about the leader of the IIIe Reich and racist remarks from a comedian during his meeting in New York on Sunday, Donald Trump assured Monday that he was “the opposite of a Nazi”.
In an interview on Fox News on Tuesday, Melania Trump deemed the comparisons between the ex-president and the leader of Nazi Germany “horrible”.
“He’s not Hitler and all his supporters support him because they want to see their country succeed,” she said.
“People see what is happening in their country and know what type of leader they want. They want prosperity, they want the return of the American dream,” she added.
The former first lady also confirmed, as he himself had done at the beginning of the month during the publication of Melania Trump’s memoirs, that her husband had “not been surprised at all” by the position that she expresses in favor of the right to abortion.
