(Washington) Republican elected official Marjorie Taylor Greene, former ally of Donald Trump, claimed on Saturday to receive numerous threats “encouraged” by the American president, who had described her as a “disgrace” for the Republican Party after growing criticism from the MP.
“I am now being contacted by private security companies with warnings for my safety at a time when a slew of threats against me are being fueled and encouraged by the most powerful man in the world,” the Georgia congresswoman said on her X account.
“A man that I supported and helped to elect,” laments the former faithful of the Republican billionaire.
The day before, Donald Trump had announced on his Truth Social platform that he was breaking with this former figure of his MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement and was ready to support another Republican candidate in a primary against her.
“Maggie “Crazy” just COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN,” he wrote.
On Saturday, he again targeted the elected official in two messages on Truth Social.
“Marjorie “Traitor” Greene is a disgrace to our GREAT REPUBLICAN PARTY,” he said.
This is the first notable break within the MAGA camp since the start of Trump’s second term in January, which has so far been marked, unlike the first, by very strong discipline around the president.

Donald Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene
Marjorie Taylor Greene publicly criticized Donald Trump’s economic policy, accusing him of not focusing enough on the issue of purchasing power.
Above all, she condemned his management of the very sensitive Jeffrey Epstein affair, a few days before a vote in the House of Representatives aimed at forcing the publication, by the Trump administration, of files relating to this sex offender with a well-filled address book.
Donald Trump “attacks me forcefully to make an example and scare other Republicans before next week’s vote,” Marjorie Taylor Greene had already reacted on X.
She found it “amazing to see how hard he is fighting” to prevent publication.
In her new message on Saturday, the elected official declares that she now has “a small idea of the fear and pressure that the women victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his cabal must feel”.
