The airline Air Canada has already announced that its connections between Montreal and Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Miami, Orlando and Tampa “could be disrupted” until October 12 inclusive.
Its October 9 flights have already been canceled.
For its part, Air Transat canceled two flights to and from Orlando on October 10 and postponed them until the next day.
What recourse for travelers?
Both airlines have hurricane-related policies that allow travelers affected by these disruptions to change their plans.
If the plane ticket is refundable, a full refund is possible while if it is not, the amount can be credited for future travel within the next year.
It is also possible to change the departure date to the same destination free of charge or to change destination by paying the difference.
This policy is in effect for Air Canada flights to Florida from October 9 to 12 and Air Transat flights from October 10 to 11.
Category 4 Hurricane Milton will make landfall in Florida overnight from Wednesday to Thursday.
This is the most powerful weather phenomenon recorded this year in the Atlantic Ocean.
