Elizabeth Gomes explained to New York Post that she had just left the train to go to her job as a security guard at Kennedy Airport when the man approached her near the station.
She claimed she sought to avoid Mr Foster when the bully intercepted her, which she said was a targeted attack. The event was filmed by a surveillance camera.
Moments later, he threw her against a wall before punching and kicking her several times while she was on the ground, according to police.
Another individual even tried to help Ms. Gomes, but the man chased him away before resuming the attack.
Waheed Foster, 43, pleaded guilty this week to attempted second-degree murder in the September 2022 assault. He faces up to 22 years in prison.
The victim underwent surgery for his injuries, which resulted in the loss of his right eye.
Mr. Foster, who is homeless, had already been the subject of several arrests before the attack, several decades ago, including for beating to death his own grandmother, aged 82, then that he was only 14 years old.
