A California couple has filed a lawsuit against the famous Venetian hotel in Las Vegas because the 62-year-old man was stung in the testicles by a scorpion; he and his wife claim the incident “ruined their sex life”, several American media outlets report.

In December 2023, Michael Farchi was spending the holiday season with his wife in the Palazzo portion of the Italian-themed resort.

In the middle of the night, he woke up with a pain in his crotch. That’s when he realized he had just been bitten by a bug that was still in the covers.

“I didn’t know what it was. It felt like I was being attacked with a sharp knife or a piece of glass,” the 62-year-old told 8NewsNow.

In a lawsuit filed Tuesday, the man claims that since the incident he has suffered from erectile dysfunction and post-traumatic stress disorder.

His wife Baita is also suing the hotel, claiming that her sex life has also been affected by the incident.

Michael Farchi believes that the hotel staff did not take the sting seriously and instead laughed at him when he recounted the incident.

“It was humiliating,” he says.

The lawsuit accuses the Venetian of failing to provide a clean, safe and vermin-free room.
