A man was reportedly shot dead in broad daylight near a luxury Cancun hotel complex by two armed suspects who fled on a personal watercraft on Wednesday.
At least that’s what the Riviera Maya News. The shooting is believed to have occurred in Playa Caracol, behind the Riu Palace Las Americas hotel, shortly before noon on Wednesday.
The shooters approached the victim on the beach and shot him several times, according to information from witnesses on site.
The victim, aged around 30, was reportedly shot and left for dead in the sand behind the hotel.
Authorities confirm that the man in question died at the scene.
The suspects then allegedly fled on personal watercraft.
RIU Hotels confirmed that the victim, who has yet to be identified, was neither a guest nor an employee of the hotel, while no other injuries were reported.
Authorities are reportedly still searching for the two suspects in this case.
