A 30-year-old Florida man is seriously injured after setting himself on fire inside a Publix store, a local American chain.
Customers who witnessed the horrific public self-immolation at the Plant City, Florida, supermarket have called police.
Others rushed to his aid to spread the flames before first responders arrived, according to the New York Postquoting the police.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Investigators determined the man poured accelerant on himself and fired the flame, said Al Van Duyne, Plant City police captain and department spokesman. The reason is not known at this time, according to Van Duyne.
This shocking accident remains under investigation.
