Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria left behind major economic challenges, with an almost complete collapse of the economic structure as a result of the policies implemented by this regime over many years, especially with the start of the war in 2011.
In a recent report, the World Bank said that the economic conditions in Syria have worsened as a result of the continued lack of funding and limited humanitarian aid, which has further depleted the ability of families to secure their basic needs amid rising prices, a decline in basic services, and an increase in unemployment rates.
