(Washington) Karoline Leavitt, the youngest White House spokesperson, announced Friday that she was pregnant with her second child, a first for a woman holding this very exposed position.

“The best gift we can hope for, a little girl, will arrive in May 2026,” the 28-year-old wrote on Instagram, in the caption of a photo in which she is seen posing in profile in front of a Christmas tree, with a rounded belly.

“I am also extremely grateful to President Trump and our Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for their support and for creating a family-friendly environment within the White House,” she added.

Karoline Leavitt, figure of the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement, which defends a conservative vision of the family, is already the mother of a little boy, born during the 2024 campaign, during which she was Donald Trump’s spokesperson.

She is married to Nicholas Riccio, a real estate developer.

This native of New Hampshire, face of the Republican president’s anti-media offensive and known for her sharp repartee, has repeatedly praised the existence of a pro-family environment in the White House.

“Almost all of my colleagues in the West Wing (in the White House, i.e. presidential offices) have babies and young children, and we are truly supportive of each other in our efforts to raise our families while working for the greatest president who has ever lived,” she told Fox News on Friday.

“It’s not easy being a working mother, but I don’t think I could be good at this job if I wasn’t a mother,” she recently confided in a podcast for New York Post.
