The prosecutor responsible for investigating the shootings which left one dead and 22 injured on February 14 during the Super Bowl parade in Kansas City, in the United States, announced Tuesday the indictment of two adults for murder.

“Two Kansas City men face charges of murder and other felonies in connection with the homicide and non-lethal shooting outside Union Station on Wednesday last,” announced the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office in Missouri (central United States).
“Dominic M. Miller, of Kansas City, and Lyndell Mays, of Raytown, each face one count of second-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.” , specifies the press release from the office of prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.
Both men were attending the parade celebrating the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory and were armed with firearms. “A verbal altercation occurred and gunfire erupted with no regard for the thousands of other individuals in the area,” the statement said.
Bail of one million dollars was set for the two defendants, who face life in prison.
Two minors had already been charged on Friday in this case. Stranded in a detention center for juvenile offenders, these two suspects, whose identity has not been communicated, are currently being prosecuted for possession of a weapon and refusal to comply.
Tens of thousands of people were celebrating the victory of the Kansas City Chiefs American football team when shots rang out near the Union Station parking lot near the end of the celebration.
The authorities counted a total of 22 injured and one death, that of Lisa Lopez, a 43-year-old radio host.
