Stranded in a detention center for juvenile offenders, these two suspects, whose identity has not been communicated, are currently being prosecuted for possession of a weapon and refusal to comply.
But “additional charges are expected in the future as the Kansas City police investigation continues,” said a statement Friday from the Jackson County Court, which includes part of Kansas City, in the State of Missouri.
The shooting broke out as the parade was coming to an end, after bringing together hundreds of thousands of people who came to cheer the Chiefs, winners of the American football national championship final.
Hit by a bullet, a 43-year-old radio presenter died and 22 other people were injured, the majority of whom were children and adolescents.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the violence resulted from a dispute between several individuals.
The police arrested and took three people into custody, before releasing one of them.
