US Vice President Kamala Harris will give her first interview on CNN on Thursday since she began campaigning just over a month ago, the network announced on Tuesday.

She will be interviewed alongside her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, with whom she will be campaigning in Georgia (south), a decisive state for the November 5 election.
The interview, with journalist Dana Bash, will air at 9 p.m. local time, CNN said.
The 59-year-old Democrat was facing growing pressure to grant a proper interview to a major American media outlet.
So far, she has limited herself to very brief exchanges with journalists following her travels or meetings with influencers.
This interview on CNN, which is to be followed on September 10 by a highly anticipated debate with Donald Trump, underlines that this extraordinary presidential campaign has entered another phase, ten weeks before the election and after a euphoric Democratic nomination convention last week in Chicago.
Kamala Harris, who entered the race after Joe Biden’s dramatic withdrawal on July 21, has since gained some momentum in the polls, but the race remains extremely tight.
Donald Trump is looking for a new lease of life, in order to win votes beyond his usual base, which is very stable and even more fervent since he was the victim of an assassination attempt on July 13.
