Pop singer Janet Jackson, sister of the late Michael Jackson, said in an interview with the British media The Guardianthat she didn’t believe Kamala Harris was black.

Asked if the United States could elect its first black woman president, the 58-year-old said: “You know what they say? She’s not black. That’s what I heard. She’s Indian.”

Her interviewer then replied that the Democratic candidate was in fact black and of Indian origin.

“His father is white. That’s what I’m told. I haven’t watched the news in a few days, but I’m told they found out his father is white,” Jackson added.

The journalist who interviewed her then told her that Kamala Harris’ father was indeed a professor of Jamaican origin, and that her mother was Indian. The couple separated when Kamala was five years old.

Despite this information, the singer refuses to officially consider the Democratic candidate as a “black” or “colored” woman.

“I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t want to answer because honestly, I don’t know,” the American star replied.

Janet Jackson therefore appears to have firmly believed and even relayed a falsehood conveyed by conspiracy groups, pro-Trumpers and individuals flirting with QAnon, all of whom are responsible for a disinformation campaign concerning the current American vice-president.
