Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni confirmed that the investments of companies owned by Elon Musk do not pose a threat to the country.
Meloni told the newspaper “Corriere della Sera” in response to a question about the risks threatening national security, “I am working to attract broad investments in Italy, and evaluate the benefit of each investment through the lens of our national interest.”
Meloni’s relations with billionaire Musk made headlines in Italy and the richest man in the world even presented her with an award in New York.
Musk entered the Italian political and business scene, warning at one point that the country needed to have more children.
He also claimed at another stage that the telecommunications company SPA was obstructing a high-speed rollout by his company Starlink.
Musk and Meloni discussed investment opportunities in the space and artificial intelligence sectors, at a time when the new regulatory framework in Italy gives foreign space companies permission to operate in the country.
