The official Israeli radio revealed that a number of reserve forces soldiers refused to comply with military service and participate in the fighting inside the Gaza Strip.
The radio reported that reserve forces were called in after the start of the war in Gaza, to participate in the formation of a new military battalion whose mission is to defend the towns surrounding Gaza and settlements in the West Bank.
However, during the training and equipping operations, they were surprised to be informed that they would enter Gaza to participate in combat operations that include what the occupation army describes as “clearing homes of militants and searching for means of combat, weapons, and tunnels,” without undergoing appropriate training for these tasks.
In interviews conducted by the radio with a number of soldiers, they stated that half of the fighters in the battalion withdrew and refused to comply with orders.
Since the beginning of the war on Gaza on October 7, the number of Israeli army officers and soldiers killed has reached 525, including 190 since the beginning of the ground war inside the Strip on the 27th of the same month.
Official Israeli army figures indicate that the total number of wounded since the start of the war on the Gaza Strip is 2,602, including 1,524 light injuries, 682 moderate injuries, and 396 critical injuries.
The Israeli “Wala” news website revealed – last Friday – that 4,000 Israeli soldiers have been disabled since the beginning of the war on the Gaza Strip, noting that there are many wounded people who have had their limbs amputated and who have been blinded and paralyzed.
On October 7, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) carried out an attack on the settlements surrounding Gaza, called “Al-Aqsa Flood,” in response to the ongoing Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people, in which it killed about 1,200 Israelis, wounded about 5,431, and captured more than 200 others.
