The Israeli Ambassador to the Emirates, Yossi Shelli, announced “the ratification of another strategic economic agreement” between Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi.

“The cooperation and mutual assistance agreement in customs affairs will enhance economic relations between our two countries and contribute to continued growth and joint cooperation,” Shelly added, in a tweet on X.

The official Emirates News Agency stated that the President of the State Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received last Thursday “accreditation papers for new ambassadors for a number of friendly countries appointed to the state”, including the Israeli Ambassador Yossi Shelli.

The Emirates News Agency reported this month that Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and UAE Foreign Minister, received in Abu Dhabi his Israeli counterpart, Gazeta Saar.

Another strategic economic agreement has been ratified between the United Arab Emirates and the State of Israel by both countries.

Partnership

It is noteworthy that the UAE and Israel signed the “Comprehensive Economic Partnership” agreement, which is in effect since 2023, and through it Emirati companies can reach the Israeli market by covering more than 96% of the tariffs and 99% of the value of trade with Israel.

This agreement gives an open and non -discriminatory environment for trade between the UAE and Israel, and also provides services suppliers in the UAE with access to the local services market in Israel in a group of sectors, including business, communications, distribution, environmental and financial services, tourism and travel services.

According to the UAE Ministry of Trade, the agreement constitutes the rules of digital trade to ensure consumer protection via the Internet, allow the free flow of data, and enable the use of digital technologies in business while preserving intellectual property rights.
