A woman filed a lawsuit against Disney after Goofy’s performer accidentally fell on her, causing severe injuries, during a visit to Disneyland in California two years ago.
The incident occurred on April 3, 2022 while Katrina Griffin was visiting the theme park with her daughter. The mother stopped for a few moments to tie the laces of her shoes. It was at this moment that the interpreter of the famous clumsy character would have tripped and fallen on top of her, reported the SFGate.
The woman then suffered “serious, traumatic, debilitating and permanent injuries which required significant medical treatment,” according to a court document cited by the local media.
So, following this event, Katrina Griffin decided to sue the amusement park, the interpreter of Goofy and the employee who accompanied the character. According to her, the employee responsible for ensuring that Goofy had safe interactions with visitors failed in his duty by not preventing the collision.
Believing her injuries “will result in permanent disability,” the woman is seeking damages for health care bills as well as loss of income the incident caused her.
Disneyland did not respond to interview requests regarding this event.
