A resident of Venice, Florida got the surprise of her life when an alligator more than 2 meters long broke down the door of her home and found itself in her kitchen.

The incident happened last month, CNN reports.
“It was 5 p.m., I was watching television and I just heard my front door being kicked in,” says the resident in question, Mary Hollenback. I thought someone was trying to get into the wrong house.”

The woman then called 911 and a team of wildlife wardens came to her residence to remove the animal that was still there.

In the meantime, the Floridian was able to take a photo of the alligator.

“It makes living in Florida even more interesting,” says M.me Hollenback.
The animal was subsequently transported to a natural environment better suited for alligators.
