An eight-year-old girl beat a robber with a baseball bat at a liquor store in the town of Maplewood, Minnesota, USA.
The altercation, which was captured on surveillance camera on the evening of August 10, involved the suspect, the store manager and his daughter.
Conchobhar Morrell, the alleged robber in the story, showed up at the store wearing an Amazon uniform. The 37-year-old reportedly loitered around the store before heading to the checkout counter with a gun.
“He put his gun on the table and asked me to give him all the money,” the store manager told CNN. His 8-year-old daughter was at his side.
The latter asked the suspect to put away his weapon, promising to give him whatever he wanted.
“I don’t care about money. What matters to me is (my daughter’s safety),” he said.
However, the suspect tried to join him behind the cash register, which caused the father to react. The latter punched him and the fight continued on the ground.
The girl joined her father with a baseball bat which she used to hit the alleged thief,
“I’m so proud of her. She’s so strong,” he said, moved.
Conchobhar Morrell faces charges of aggravated robbery and will return to court on Friday.
