A 30-year-old American teacher from Maine gave birth in the parking lot of her school just after school and the newborn is doing like a charm.
Tori Hildreth, who worked normally on October 8, did not expect this prospect, before contractions began at the end of her last class, according to the “New York Post”.
It was shortly after 2 p.m. that the young teacher from Old Town secondary school who was expecting her second child towards the end of the current month was overcome by pain in her lower abdomen.
“I was talking to my students and I was like, ‘I probably won’t be here tomorrow because I think I’m going to have this baby soon,'” Hildreth told Fox 4.
The contractions had become more frequent and the baby’s arrival was imminent for Ms. Hildreth, who quickly called her mother and the school nurse.
The mother of the teacher who works near the school arrived on site well before first aid, said the American media.
Tori Hildreth’s father, who is a captain in the city’s Fire Department, was among the first responders to arrive on the scene, according to the Post.
Old Town High School congratulated the mother teacher and celebrated the extremely rare event of a childbirth which took place in the parking lot and in good conditions.
