Jeffrey Epstein had information about Donald Trump and the Clintons so incendiary it could have upended the 2016 presidential election if it had been made public, according to the late financier’s younger brother.
“Here’s a direct quote: ‘If I told what I know about both candidates, they would have to overturn the election.’ That’s what Jeffrey told me in 2016,” Mark Epstein told the Post on Wednesday, recalling a conversation he had with his brother about the showdown between Trump and Hillary Clinton.
Mark, however, refused to elaborate on the meaning of his brother’s words, explaining that he had never told him exactly what he knew about Mr. Trump and the Clintons.
Both candidates are known to have evolved in Jeffrey Epstein’s circle, directly or indirectly.
According to flight records, Mr. Trump traveled on Mr. Epstein’s private jet seven times in the 1990s, between Palm Beach, Fla., and New York, accompanied by members of his family on at least two occasions.
Hillary is not known to have associated with Mr. Epstein personally, but her husband, former President Bill Clinton, was a friend of Mr. Epstein’s since at least 1993, during his first term in the White House.
Mr. Clinton and Mr. Epstein visited each other numerous times over the years, with the latter making at least 17 visits to the White House.
A compromising journey
The ex-president also traveled the world aboard Jeffrey Epstein’s jet, visiting Europe, Asia and Africa in 2002 and 2003.
Mark said it was his brother taking Clinton on a philanthropic trip to Africa that first put him in the hot seat.
“When Jeff took Clinton and, I believe, Chris Tucker and others to Africa, my brother made a mistake doing that, because before that he was under the radar; no one looked at him,” he explained.
“But when he took Clinton on a plane, people wondered who was this guy who was taking Clinton on a plane,” he added.
