The carrots are not yet completely cooked for Donald Trump, but they could be from July 11, believes Jean-Marc Léger.

Everything depends on the sentence that will be pronounced by the judge, says the president of the Léger polling firm.
“If he is imprisoned, his entire aura of invincibility will fall,” he maintains.
“If we see Donald Trump in handcuffs and taken to prison, it’s over: he has lost the presidential election,” adds Mr. Léger.
Otherwise, we should expect little impact for Donald Trump and his electoral campaign. If the ex-president remains free, his popularity rating will be little affected by this guilty verdict, says Jean-Marc Léger.

The latter expects Fox News and other pro-Trump media outlets to attempt to demolish the verdict and criticize the legal process.
A prison sentence, on the other hand, would be costly to Donald Trump’s popularity in the public eye.
“The Americans, if they see that he is imprisoned, you will see voting intentions collapse,” proclaims Mr. Léger.
“The image of Donald Trump imprisoned is the end of his political career, in my opinion,” he adds.
The main person concerned, for his part, is counting on the fact that if he is elected, he will be able to be forgiven for the crimes of which he has been found guilty.
“There is nothing stopping Mr. Trump from running even if he is imprisoned in this case. There is only one cause that would prevent him, and that is if he is accused of insurrection. That would prevent him from running, but this cause is rejected ad vitam aeternam and that will probably not happen before the election,” explains Jean-Marc Léger.
