Between heavy traffic on the roads, scenes of destruction and power outages still in effect in Florida, the return of thousands of Tampa citizens is proving difficult.

Millions of homes are still plunged into darkness following the hurricane Milton which caused at least 16 deaths and extensive damage amounting to tens of billions of dollars.

Many Floridians will remain scarred by the scenes of destruction they witnessed. Many had taken refuge in Orlando, and the return took a very long time on the roads, confirmed the journalist from TVA News on site, Kevin Crane-Desmarais.

Additionally, more than 78% of Tampa’s gas stations are completely dry, and people are having to go out of town to fill up with gas. Those that are not empty experience endless queues.

In terms of deaths caused by the hurricane, six occurred in Saint Lucia, where three tornadoes struck in less than 25 minutes. Authorities are also asking residents to go to St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay and be careful not to get electrocuted.

President Joe Biden will visit Florida on Sunday.
