With the rising cost of living, the American dream seems less and less attainable, but some states offer relocation programs so advantageous that it becomes very attractive to move there.

Here are these five US states that would pay you to move into their territory, according to New York Post:

West Virginia

West Virginia is a state where outdoor lovers are delighted, particularly because of its national parks. To encourage people to settle there, the State is offering a bonus of US$12,000 as well as a one-year pass to do activities.

In addition, some municipalities are ready to add money to the kitty to encourage people to move there.

Note also that the price of houses is lower, with a median price of US$152,272, according to Zillow.

Oklahoma

The city of Tulsa, Oklahoma, not only has a more affordable median real estate price – US$196,774, according to Zillow – but also offers a bonus of US$10,000 to remote workers who would like to settle in the small municipality .

Kentucky

While Kentucky has one of the top five affordable housing markets in the states, the state also offers relocation packages that in some cases include employment.

Indiana

People who move to Indiana could receive up to $5,000. The state is not only known for its surprisingly low house prices (US$227,178) as well as its low cost of living and low unemployment rate.

Kansas

In addition to being able to request an income tax exemption, new arrivals have access to affordable housing and resettlement grants of up to US$15,000 in certain cities.
