Star singer Taylor Swift donates US$5 million to help hurricane victims Helene And Miltonaccording to an announcement from the charity Feeding America.

“Thank you, Taylor, for supporting us in the movement to end hunger and helping communities in need,” the nonprofit said in a statement on social media.

“This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water and supplies to those affected by these devastating storms,” Feeding America continued.

Thursday morning Milton has weakened, returning to category 1; Wind speeds were seen slowing to 130 km/h, as the hurricane brought torrential rains, between 200 and 350 millimeters, to areas of northern and eastern Florida.

The American National Weather Service had recorded no fewer than 27 tornadoes alongside the passage of the hurricane Milton in Florida, causing several deaths before approaching Cape Canaveral, according to information from the CNN network.

Furthermore, the recurrence of hurricanes hitting Florida has pushed the mayor of St. Petersburg to suggest rethinking infrastructure to adapt to the new climate reality, according to what NBC News reported.
