Streets turned into rivers in the small town of Pacific on Tuesday as floods submerged part of Washington state.

Cars were trapped in the floods as the waters invaded the residential areas of this town of 7,000 souls.
The recent rains were caused by a series of atmospheric storms, vast air currents laden with dense moisture from the ocean, that swept inland from the Pacific Northwest, including parts of northern Idaho and western Montana.
