Wayne Murray, who lives in Brooklyn, New York, won a first prize of 10 million with a lottery ticket where you had to scratch the boxes to win.
Nearly a year later, he bought a ticket for another game at the same gas station and the result was similar, according to information from the New York Post.
He won the ultimate prize for a ticket of this type in the New York lottery.
In both cases, he decided to receive the entire amount in one payment.
In two years, he received a total of nearly 12 million US dollars (C$16,290,000) from the company after taxes.
The lottery tickets purchased cost $30 ($40 CAN) each.
