A 26-year-old man from Tennessee, US, who attempted to rob a gas station with a snake after two failed attempts has been arrested by police.
Reginald Cook first tried to commit a robbery at the Shell gas station, located on Elvis-Presley Boulevard in Memphis on Monday at 2 a.m., according to police cited by local media WREG.
Thus, the suspect who entered the store to pretend to make purchases tried to demand money from the cashier who refused, the “New York Post” reported Thursday, citing the local media.
The 26-year-old man then left the business to return after 30 minutes to make the same request, giving the impression of being armed to the cashier who was not at all impressed.
Having left the convenience store empty-handed, the suspect resorts to extreme measures to try for the third time to rob the business, returning with a 1.50 m snake around his neck with the obvious aim of scaring the employee.
“Give me the damn money,” Cook allegedly shouted to the cashier who, certainly frightened, but far from giving in to the threat, displayed his weapon to defend himself before calling the police who arrested the suspect without incident, who faced to charges of robbery.
Cook’s family went to the gas station the next day to apologize for the incident and offered to reimburse for any damage caused by their son, according to the local media outlet.
