An Appel Watch just left by a FedEx delivery man in front of a residence in Ohio was stolen by a hooded man, before ending up for sale on social networks.
According to a video relayed on social networks, we see the deliveryman drop the package in front of the door, while a young man who has hidden his face comes running to grab the package and take off.
The thief who had obviously prepared his attack then left with his loot in his vehicle, a blue Honda without a license plate, according to what the newspaper “The Columbus Dispatch” reported on Wednesday.
Alerted police officers subsequently discovered that the luxury watch was offered for sale on Facebook by a woman whose profile indicates that she worked for the same distribution company that delivered the package.
A FedEx spokesperson was proud of the delivery company’s efforts to combat this theft practice, citing the implementation of “innovative technologies” for the benefit of customers, according to the local newspaper.
As a reminder, last April, a man who had disguised himself as a trash bag was caught on a surveillance camera stealing a package in front of a residence in Sacramento, California.
